Wir sind hier! (We are here!) is a forum theatre play about persecution, rejection and oppression of romani people in Germany. After a very late recognition of the holocaust on Roma and Sinti racist terror attacks are back and the Roma Holocaust Memorial shall be partly destroyed because of a new metro line. Enough is enough! Shall we form a Roma Army, do Roma need their own state, or what can we do to stop racism and oppression against Roma and Sinti?
The play premiered at Festiwalla in June 2021 and has been touring in youth clubs, theatres and festivals in Berlin, Brandenburg and Dortmund. At the end of May 2022, the play had been selected as one of a total of eight productions from over 50 submissions for the Theatertreffen der Jugend and was performed at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.
