Taking the play Wendemöglichkeit as its starting point, the workshop invites participants to explore how the forms of oppression portrayed on stage — such as toxic male loyalty, peer pressure, and the silencing of violence — are also present in their own lives, relationships and social contexts.
It creates a space to examine how these structures shape everyday experiences, emotions and behaviors, and to imagine collective ways of resisting them. Following the principles of the Aesthetics of the Oppressed, this workshop proposes reclaiming the languages of sound, image and word to investigate how masculinities are socially constructed and reproduced.
Throughout the workshop, participants will engage in body-based exercises, image theatre, improvisations and sound explorations to identify the narratives and mechanisms that sustain inequalities and violences within male relationships — and beyond.
No previous theatre experience is required. Limited spots available.
Participation in the performance Wendemöglichkeit on Thursday 20 August at 19:00 in Uferstudios is highly recommended as a starting point for joining the workshop.

“Games and Exercises” is a workshop inspired by Augusto Boal’s Games for Actors and Non-Actors in an experiential setting, where the meaning of each exercise is revealed through practice.
Participants will acquire a theatre toolkit to expand their creative repertoire and support critical thinking in personal and collective processes. It is open to everyone: educators, artists, community leaders, activists, and all who are interested in creative expression and social justice.
No prior experience in theatre is required — all you need is an open mind and a willingness to engage.

In this workshop, participants will explore techniques and fundamental principles of Theatre of the Oppressed, developed by the Brazilian playwright Augusto Boal and further developed through the innovative approach of Bárbara Santos and Teatro de las Oprimidas, with an intersectional Black-feminist perspective and special attention to aesthetics.
During the workshop, participants will explore different theatrical techniques, including image theatre, media theatre and games that stimulate dialogue and reflection.
No previous theatre experience is necessary. This workshop is open to everyone, regardless of skill level or experience.

This workshop shares practical tools, exercises and techniques developed since 2010 through Teatro de las Oprimidas processes with theatre groups and artist-activists in Latin America, Europe and Africa.
Through games, images, movement and aesthetic creation, participants will work with feminist, anti-racist, decolonial and community-based perspectives. The workshop offers practical ways to create theatrical images and political poetics that open space for collective reflection, dialogue and transformation.
The workshop has a modular and independent format. Participants can join the full three-day workshop or take part in individual days. Each day focuses on a different aesthetic technique.
No previous experience is needed.

DRAMATURGY LABORATORIES

The Dramaturgy Lab is a creative process for theatrical development. It is a space for aesthetic and thematic development, aimed at strengthening the artistic proposition and the interactive potential of a theatrical piece.
At the Aesthetics of Solidarity Festival, in addition to interacting with the audience immediately following the performance, all pieces have the opportunity to undergo an in-depth practical-analytical process the day after the public presentation.
The participants of the Dramaturgy Lab express their views on the structure of the play and its theatrical interaction, considering its aesthetic concept, dramaturgy, thematic clarity and other aspects. Divided into small groups, the participants select some of the discussed aspects to work on.
Each group transforms the conceptual analysis into a concrete aesthetic proposal: an image, a scene, a dialogue, a sonorous sequence, a choreography or another theatrical form.
The goal is to offer proposals for different aspects of the play, contributing to its artistic and thematic development. In this way, each theatre group receives impulses for the continuity of their work. The Dramaturgy Lab is open to the theatre group, festival participants and audience members.
