Silence is Sexy – ForumTheatre

Silence is Sexy is a Forum Theatre piece that confronts the silences we maintain in the face of injustice. It examines how these silences operate not only as personal choices, but as social mechanisms that sustain inequality and protect existing power structures.

Through situations inspired by lived experiences, the performance invites the audience to question: who benefits from our silence, and what does it cost us—individually and collectively?

Developed within the methodology of Teatro de las Oprimidas, the piece transforms spectators into active participants. The audience is invited to test alternative collective actions from their social role to change the situation represented by the theatre group. In doing so, the theatre becomes a collective space to rehearse responses to real-life situations.

Created by Pandeforium, a collective of migrant and diverse artists, the work brings together multiple perspectives shaped by experiences of displacement and structural inequality. It opens a space to reflect on voice, responsibility, and the risks and possibilities of taking action.
